Guild Care

A Home Away From Home

There's a place where visually impaired adults can go to get necessary medical care and still feel right at home. A place where they can make friends, enjoy a hot meal, and experience new things. A place where they can receive high quality medical services and professional vision therapy while strengthening their physical, mental and social skills.

GuildCare™ is an innovative adult day care program of the Jewish Guild for the Blind, offered in partnership with Olmsted Center. GuildCare™ fosters a sense of purpose and wellness by offering on-site medical, rehabilitative and social services six hours a day, Monday through Friday.
Services include:
  • nursing care
  • social work
  • nutrition counseling
  • health education
  • physical therapy
  • occupational therapy
  • speech therapy
  • vision therapy
  • ancillary health services
  • hot lunch
  • recreational activities
  • transportation
To participate in the program, applicants must have a visual impairment and a chronic medical condition that requires monitoring. There are two GuildCare™ locations, at 1170 Main Street in Buffalo and on Military Road in Niagara Falls. Participation can be funded by either Medicaid or private pay. To learn more, call (716) 885-8041 in Buffalo or (716) 285-3499 in Niagara Falls. You may also visit their web site at www.jgb.org.
