Language and Vocabulary – We will discuss, read stories, and integrate activities focusing on crafts for fall harvest, fruits and vegetables, the meaning of giving thanks, sharing, using good manners, prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday and celebrate by participating in a Thanksgiving feast with our PALS friends.
Color of the month – BROWN Shape of the month – TRIANGLE
Fine Motor – Lacing turkeys, sponge painting, cutting, coloring, watercolor painting with fine brushes, play dough, moon sand, magnet boards
Perception – Sorting items by the letter they begin with A, B, C, D, E, F, same and different, puzzles, matching the patterns on cards, matching colors and shapes
Directional and Positional Concepts – Up/down, in front of/behind, in/out, top/bottom
Gross Motor – Climbing room,gym/ride bikes, mats for tumbling, basketball, creative movement, throwing and catching balls with a partner
Sensory Experience – Feel inside a pumpkin and pulling seeds out, sand table, water table, touch, taste and smell fall objects (leaves, pumpkin, apples, apple cider, corn husks, and gourds), thanksgiving meal
Pre-Math – Continue adding new calendar activities, new shape-triangle, counting and identifying numbers
Snacks – Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, foods that are brown and triangular, milk, challah and cream cheese, fruit breakfast bars, snack mixes

Language and Vocabulary-Welcome to Fall our new season! Fall walk to collect fall items along the way then discuss and label them. Read books about fall, changes in seasons and weather, pumpkins, kindness and new school friendships. Fall activities-field trip bus ride to Becker Farms to pick pumpkins, fall sports (football, soccer). Fire prevention and safety discussion, what is a fire, firefighter, smoke detector, hose, boots, hat, jacket, ladder, fire extinguisher, etc. Read Scholastic magazine about fire prevention.

Language and Vocabulary-Welcome to School, classroom rules, daily routine, friendly manners, labeling and naming objects around the classroom, learn names of classmates, teacher, and other adults in our room. “Simon Says” helps with naming body parts, how they move, and self-concept (“I am special”)! Learn the letters and objects that begin with “A”, “B”, “C”, and “D”.

Fine Motor-Cutting, gluing, coloring, painting, play dough and musical instruments
Perception-Puzzle skills, peg boards alternating red and blue pegs
Directional and Positional Concepts-In front of and behind your classmate, top and bottom

Sensory Experience-Water table (weather permitting), sand box, bean box, different smells, feel breeze that we make with parachute

Language and Vocabulary – Discuss and experience various seasonal activities, playground, sounds of nature, birds, seeds, flowers, bugs, transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly (lifecycle). Discuss the ending of spring and moving into a new the season of summer, summer safety, and Father’s Day!
Color of month: BLACK Shape of the month: SQUARE
Fine Motor –Drawing with sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles, popping bubbles, sand art, flower prints, and collection of sticks and leaves to make bird’s nest, planting seeds
Perception – Opposites puzzles, zoo puzzles, different size shapes, sea shell sorting, object sorting
Gross Motor – Climbing, jumping, running, ride bikes, play catch, kick ball
Sensory Experience – Water play, sand play, feel bubbles popping, cold popsicles, warm breezes, warm sunshine, feel the grass between our toes
